The Love of Cross-stitch

Our 7-year-old son is starting to show interest in cross-stitch by watching me work on it. We made an agreement that he would start on a small Tiny Modernist pattern that was easy to understand. He was highly excited and chose Mouse's Snow Day because it is winter and seems appropriate for this time of year.

At 7, the biggest goal isn’t perfection — it’s building confidence.

If stitches are twisted, uneven, or he skips a hole here and there… that’s all part of the learning curve. What matters is that he feels proud and continues to want

to do more.
