Joyful Journal August by Heart in Hand Needleart is a whimsical summer cross stitch design featuring a large blue-gray whale surrounded by ocean waves, a lighthouse, sailboat, fish, and decorative coastal details. The stitched word “August” anchors the design and gives it the playful journal-style look of the series.

The model was stitched on 30-count Confederate Gray linen from Weeks Dye Works. The design uses Classic Colorworks, Gentle Art, and Weeks Dye Works threads, with Anchor and DMC conversions provided on the chart. An optional DMC floss pack is available using the designer’s conversion.
